| A week for the record books...Greg and I finally unpacked everything, hung everything on the walls
that needed to be hung, and cleaned the apartment from top to bottom. Lovely yeah? Sadly, instead of going to Austin on Friday for the BookFest
like we'd been planning to, we ended up spending the money we'd saved
for the mini-trip getting our power turned back on. Long f-ing story. Even so, no tears were shed because since we'd managed to get the house clean before the weekend even started, we had two whole days to sit around and watch movies and play Scrabble and I got to paint and Greggles got to play video games and it was amazing. We never have that kind of time to do anything. Now it's over. It was beautiful.
In other news I just ran the first podcast of week 1 from the beginners running training schedule on coolrunning.com. It kicked my arse and I am way out of shape. The podcast is all kinds of awesome though. It's easy to keep running when there's techno in the background and Robert Ullrey is telling me that I'm doing a great job. Much better than me trying to time myself at 60 second intervals on a Kenneth Cole digital dress watch (Greg's) while listening to the BBC Newspod. My attempts to consolidate the "keeping up with the world" and "staying fit" parts of my life failed miserably. I can accept the loss and move on.

| My friend David informed me this week of a new column in The Battalion called "Eavesdropping." Anyone around town who overhears a particularly funny conversation or statement can send what they've heard to the paper to be printed. Here's the gem of the week...

In other news, Greg and I will be at the Austin Book Festival on the 3rd and 4th of November and we're hoping to go to the Coheed and Cambria show in Houston on the 16th. If the plans work out then expect a visit all of you Houst/Aust-inite friends.
